What is your favorite classic with a twist? Can be anything, interior design related, food, drinks, architecture?
I love classic antique furniture paired with an unexpected modern chair or accent. In my home, I have an antique cherry wood secretary, paired with a teak carved palm hand seat. It's probably my favorite vignette in the house!
How did you find out about Dowel Furniture?
I was searching for customizable chairs and a friend mentioned your company! I have to say, finding good quality dining chairs that also look good, AND for under $1000 are like finding a needle in a haystack. So when I found Dowel, and was able to customize everything from shapes to fabrics, to seat heights, it was a dream come true. Every project I've used them in is an instant success. The client's always love them.
Which pieces did you choose for your projects and why did you choose those pieces for your clients?
Grace Klismos Side Chair
These clients were looking for something unique, durable, and great quality. I found a similar Klismos shape in a vintage chair set that looked beautiful, but were totally beaten up and over budget. When we found these, I was thrilled. We received the swatches in the mail, confirming our choices, and placed the order. They're so comfortable and have a great weight to them, so you know they'll last forever.
Parisienne Arm Chair
I knew what fabric I wanted to use, a green rugby Ralph Lauren stripe. And when I saw the shape of this chair, I loved the way the rounded edges played off the straight fabric lines. And they worked out beautifully to finish off a game table nook in a client's home.
